Position Description
Night Shift 3:30pm-7:30pm
Safely performs tasks associated with the receipt, storage, and shipment of products while meeting productivity, quality, safety, behavioral and attendance expectations. Use established tools, equipment, and technologies required to complete transactions related to Inbound and Outbound processes within a distribution center.
Functions may include, but are not limited to unloading, put-away, sorting, labeling, picking, packing, replenishing, shipping, etc.
Complies with Grainger policies, guidelines and procedures as well as state and federal regulations, OSHA and Hazardous Material requirements in the storage, handling and movement of product.
Performs necessary housekeeping duties in order to maintain a clean, safe, organized work environment.
Position Requirements
High School diploma or equivalent
Must be able and willing to operate Power Industrial Equipment (PIE).
Must be able to work safely in a fast-paced distribution center environment.
Able to operate computerized scanning equipment, Ex. Data scanner, RF unit
Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
Must be flexible enough to work the hours in accordance to the business demands of the shift that you support.
Must have excellent problem-solving skills.
Must be willing and able to cross-train in other positions within the operation as needed.
Must have the ability to meet deadlines and production requirements as hours and schedule may change.
Must display a high degree of accuracy, attention to detail, and possess good math skills.
Must be able to work in a team environment.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Physical activity including, but not limited to, sitting, standing, bending, stooping, lifting (up to 75 lbs.), and walking (up to 60% of day). Ability to maneuver through storage racks, trailers, and other areas of the warehouse. Must be physically capable of operating equipment found in a distribution center environment including, but not limited to, material handling equipment.
